Good article. I find Canggu to be on the more expensive side for Nomads. But still cheap by western standards. I don’t have all the answers, but I think contributing to locals, volunteering, helping where needed in those countries, and being willing to pay taxes there is a good start.

The disparity you see in Canggu is multiplied 1,000 fold in India and Sri Lanka. I’d pay more for a visa if I knew the funds were going to help reduce the stress on locals or benefits the locals in any way.
