Whether I agree or not is unimportant. When I travel I definitely care, and do my best to not burden other societies or cultures with my American Exceptionalism or White Privilege. Should not all travelers travel lightly, not loudly? Have we not said the best practices abroad are ‘leave no trace’ and be an example rather than a stereotype? The difference between “tourist” and “traveler” is vast and we should all be the very best travelers we can be.
There are bad people in every walk of life, everywhere. So I can’t accept the blanket generalizations that all nomads are uncaring and aloof around the world. At least none of the ones I call friends.
